ramsey and suvi tug-a-thon

At least once a day, we aren't quick enough to grab the cameras (video or DSLR), and we miss recording something cute or funny. Sometimes it's when Pablo is "zooming" and Suvi is encouraging him, or when Suvi is snoring louder than Chad, but recently it's been the tug-a-thons between Suvi and Ramsey...

The video on Suvi's YouTube page shows Suvi and Ramsey laying on the floor tugging on a tennis ball. A lot of times they're upright, and moving through the living room. We often catch ourselves saying "I could sit and watch them all day long!" because they play together so perfectly. Sometimes we choose not to film their antics, because we want to have a little of the time with them just to ourselves. Sometimes, we're just not quick enough to catch those moments.

Last night, however, when one wanted to play

pablo and his babies

No, Pablo doesn't have real babies. That's the name for the stuffed toys he carries around the house in his mouth. More generically, it's the name for anything he carries around in his mouth - because sometimes it's a sock, sometimes it's the stuffing from inside one of the babies.

I about died the first time I  heard Chad say, "get your baby, Pablo. where's your baby?" and he ran off

silly, quirky puppies

The silly quirks are the things I love most about our pups. Or, at least they are the things that make me love them all a little differently.

I love the way Suvi absolutely requires a toy in her mouth at all times while rough-housing with Ramsey. She will run away from a wrestling match to catch the ball she's accidentally dropped, before returning to jump on Ramsey, poking her with the ball until it falls out again.

I love the way Pablo needs to have a kiss when one of us gets home from work, before he'll

Ramsey and Pablo (and Suvi) fans are everywhere!

Getting ready to leave a restaurant after lunch a few weeks ago, we were approached by a Ramsey and Pablo fan - she recognized us both from Facebook, and stopped over to say hi and show us her dogs! She had her 11-year-old chihuahua siblings in a carrying bag, and they were ADORABLE.

We left the restaurant, and I was in shock. Did we just get recognized from the internet?!

chihuahua killer. er....suvi.

August 2009:
"Fine, adopt her, but you are not bringing that chihuahua killer to our house." - my parents (who do not have a chihuahua).

August 2009:
"She's cute now, but

famous dogs and thick skin

I didn't really ever ask for famous dogs. I mean, sure, I did always think Suvi was the cutest thing on earth, and would understand if Target wanted to replace Bullseye and his red rings with Suvi and her black spot.

In reality though, I figured at best Suvi and I would be great breed advocates by working with MN Pit Bull rescue, volunteering, and making a good impression on anyone and everyone we could. Remind me to tell you some other time about how welcoming (or not....) my parents were to the idea of me adopting a pit bull...

in love with a chihuahua

It's true. I'm in love with a chihuahua. I'm not even embarrassed to say it out loud.

I've never been a chihuahua kind of girl. Not even a small dog kind of girl. I adopted a pit bull, after all. I despise despised yappy little dogs with small bladders that can't keep up on a 3-mile run. Falling in love with Ramsey was a given...not so much with Pablo.

It wasn't love at first sight. Like a lot of new relationships, there was a little bit of the "excitement of the chase" with Pablo and me.

behind the (other) camera is a happy puppy momma.

I'm Brandy, the recent human addition to Chad's roommate list. You might know the other 4-legged roommates as Ramsey, Pablo, and recently, Suvi. (that's me in the photo below, between Chad and Suvi)

Chad's told you all a little bit about Suvi and me, but I thought it might be nice to share more about me, our lives together, and what it's like being the girl behind the (other) camera. Chad and I have come to this life with famous dogs via different routes, and so sometimes have different perspectives - we thought it would be fun to share both. Besides, I tend to be a little more extroverted (or an over-sharer, as he sometimes calls me), so you're likely to get more of the behind-the-scenes scoop from this side of the couch...
